Welcome to the Diablo Ramblers. We have been a chapter of the Holiday
Ramblers Recreational Vehicle Club since 1973 and are one of eight HR
chapters in California. Our members live mainly in the upper Bay Area, East
Bay and wine country. Campouts are usually the 3rd weekend of the month
except for June, July and August which are dark.
Our official campout activities typically start on Thursday afternoon when
many of the members arrive and go out to dinner. On Friday, there is a
social hour with a dinner of heavy hors d’oeuvres or a pot luck and then
games in the clubhouse. Saturday morning is usually a pancake breakfast
prepared by the men and followed by a short club meeting. Afternoon
activities are followed by another social hour and then a potluck dinner
planned by the hosts. Sunday morning is usually a continental breakfast and
then departure. Some members arrive a day or so early and/or stay a day or
so after to enjoy the surrounding area.
Campout activities might include games, area sightseeing, shopping,
exploring, kayaking (several members have kayaks) and a good amount of
relaxing, talking and enjoying each other’s company. Occasionally, we work
on our rigs or help someone else with problems. We tend to be casual with
regard to chapter activities so members may feel free to “do their own
thing” during campouts. Most members are of retirement age or nearly so.
Chapter dues are currently $12 per year payable November 1st. A prerequisite
to membership in the Diablo Ramblers is membership in HRRVC. Attendance at
one of our chapter outings is recommended before joining. Feel free to call
if there are any questions or you would like to attend a campout.
